It Is Impossible To Trust No One

Growing up in the dense urban jungle of Port Harcourt city in Nigeria, I have always been told of one golden rule, “TRUST NO ONE”. You may actually believe that lie, but over the years I have come to realize that Trust is a very important ingredient for life. Precisely, Trust in total strangers. I believe that you church-going lot call it “faith in humanity.”

Let us define faith. According to Hebrews 11:1,

“faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

According to the arcus dictionary, Trust is to have confidence or faith in. So you see faith is more like the church approved name for trust, and your pastor always tells you to have Faith. This is because without Faith (Trust), it is impossible to please God. Knowing that man is made in the image of God and you are a man (don’t call me a fucking sexist, I am quoting the bible here), without Faith (Trust) it is impossible to please yourself.

***I know you may think I am high, but the only drink I have taken this sunday morning is communion wine (I think it was Vodka mixed in Ribena).

Let us analyze this together.

You guys like a good haircut right? The only way to get it is to trust a total stranger with a clipper to do the job. Do u know that a well sharpened clipper can cut your throat?

As for you sisters, do you know how easy it is to fcuk up your beauty while lining your eyebrows? Yeah, but you trust Cynthia the girl who you called a whore the last time you quarreled to line those eyebrows.

And when you go to the club, you call a cab guy who you only Know his name (hopefully) and you trust him to take you to the club and back without dropping you off at his favorite ritualist’s house.

You may not fully understand what I am saying but the Moral of the story is that you need to trust people, for you to get anything done.
